Moving Forward: Sudan

On November 30th, 2013, I had the pleasure of seeing the final product of a long awaited project! I had the honor of working with an incredible group of people (Sana, Reem, Riham, Karrar, and Mahmoud) to put together an TEDx type event that tries to inspire hope and showcase some of the phenomenal and amazing movements taking place inside and outside Sudan. The organizations, campaigns and movements we discussed all try to tackle change from a non-politcal perspective; whether it be medical, environmental, social, technological, or economical. More so, it is inspiring to see that some of these efforts stem from the States, we have spectacular individuals from our community who strive in various ways to make a difference: Dr. Anwar Dafallah, Asma Hamid, Abir Ibrahim, Mosno Al-Moseeki, and Ehab Abasaeed. These truly motivating people honored us by sharing their experiences, their time and their talent. Its beautiful to see the power that a few steps can have on many lives, and that hope is never lost!

This is only the beginning of something great!
